Writing 5(Blog Posts) For Crit 4

These last few weeks I have been super busy with my Senior Exhibit: Seven Perspectives.  Since I have been busy I have only been able to start working on a couple of new paintings.  I ran out of my small panels so I had to resort to some bigger canvas.  The last critique was really short and was told that I needed to work on bringing the audience into my paintings.

Of course my camera decided to break on me the last week of school so I will put up photographs of my work when I get it fixed.

I looked at Carlie Gerhardt's work and I enjoy the way she is able to bring characters to life.  She is currently working on combining Pin Up Girls and her own characters that she has created.  You can find her blog here: http://pureimaginationink.blogspot.com/

Writing 4(blog posts) for Crit 3

Last critique I was told to do some plein air painting and that is what I did.  I went out to my grandparents farm and I painted out in their field and lake.  it was a lot of fun.  Here are the photos of the paintings.

I looked at Ashley Tyson's blog and I really like the design of her pieces and how she leads the viewer around.  I really like her designs that look like tattoos and I think she would do well with being a tattoo designer.

Writing 6 (blog post) Artist Lecture

I went to see Ariel Bowman and I thought her exhibit was quaint and her presentation was professional and excellent.  In presentation she talked a lot about her inspiration, her process, and why she makes prehistoric animals.  I did not ask her any questions. What I took away from her presentation was that I can create whatever I want if I put my mind to it.
Below is my favorite piece in her exhibit.
